Nodoka Ibayashi

1998年生まれ。2022年武蔵野美術大学造形学部視覚伝達デザイン学科卒。2024年同大学院造形研究科デザイン専攻視覚伝達デザインコース修了。
学部ではダイヤグラムデザイン・データビジュアライゼーションを中心に学び、「見えないものの可視化」をテーマに、自身の感覚や経験を可視化した作品を制作。
卒業制作では「分類」という人の思考過程、思考と図の往還にフォーカスし、過去の分類体系・またそれを表象する図像について調査した上で「図を用いて思考する」ツールを提案した。
大学院では、多角的なコミュニケーションを促進するための視覚ツールについて、社会学・人類学的理論の変遷を踏まえ、ワークショップの手法を用いながら探索的研究を行った。
最近考えていることは、「ヴィジュアルコミュニケーションで人の思考やコミュニケーションをどう豊かにするか」「モノから東京という都市を見ること」「グラフィックデザイナーと労働」。

Born in 1998. Graduated from the Department of Visual Communication Design, Faculty of Fine Arts, Musashino Art University, in 2022. Completed the Visual Communication Design Course in the Design Major, Graduate School of Fine Arts, at the same university in 2024.
As an undergraduate, she focused on diagram design and data visualization, creating works that visualized her own perceptions and experiences under the theme of “visualizing the invisible.”
For her graduation project, she focused on “classification”—the human thought process and the interplay between thought and diagrams—and, after researching historical classification systems and the imagery used to represent them, proposed a tool for “thinking through diagrams.”
In graduate school, she conducted exploratory research on visual tools to promote multifaceted communication, drawing on the evolution of sociological and anthropological theories and utilizing workshop methodologies.
Her current areas of interest include “how visual communication can enrich human thought and communication,” “viewing the city of Tokyo through objects,” and “graphic designers and labor.”
